How long has having good looking skin been important to you?
I guess since I saw my face pimple free around age 17. I didn't have bad acne or anything, just the typical curse of puberty, but it sure was nice to be done with those years.
Do you think it affects how others see you, treat you? Why?
Maybe... but how you see yourself is always the most important.
How has looking good been important to you in your career or personal life?
Career , It's everything. So many obstacles in this business, you want to limit the number of things that can hold you back.
Does it give you confidence to have healthy looking skin?
Of course. It's especially nice not to think about it.
Do you take any extra steps to keep your skin looking as good as possible? If yes, how?
A lot of Sun Screen! I'm a surfer... I probably average 8 hours a week in the water. The sun, sea, wind, reflection, and salt can be brutal. Got to protect yourself, and then make sure to wash it off afterward.
Have you ever had skin issues, like acne, dryness, dark circles, uneven colorations, wrinkles? If so what and what’s a good story you have about any issues it may have caused for you both personally and professionally ?
Pretty lucky with that... but it might be because I take preventative measures.
Has your skin issues ever embarrassed you or made a good situation less than desirable (Stress causing new acne when beginning to date someone new, Shooting a series and needing to be caked up with make up for cover up - shooting scheduled for an other day because of it, etc...)? What was the situation? What happened and did you do anything about it?
I had a break in the middle of an episode and went home an surfed, but used expired sunscreen. I got ridiculously tan/burned. When you watch the episode I change colors like 4 times. I felt like such a Jackass... but I was lucky no one noticed except my make-up girl and the DP.
What's your best skin care tip that you could give based on your experiences?
If you're in the sun a lot, you need a (skin care) regime. Sunscreen every morning, good face wash and moisturizer every night.
What do you think about the BORBA founder Scott-Vincent Borba and his knowledge of skin care and what he's trying to do?
Scott will be a legend in this industry... mark my words. He is not in this to make a buck... he wants to build an Empire... and he will. He has the knowledge of a neurosurgeon and the passion of a Revolutionary Leader. Quit wasting your time with sub-par products from massive corporations... get on board with "SVB."
What do you think about the BORBA products?
Well, all his products smell like they are edible. I didn't try to eat them, but I wanted to... so it was really easy to smear them all over my face every day. I love 'em.
